La distillerie de Namur

Spirits from the millennium city

The Namur distillery project started in 2017. Two friends, Sander Dethiège and Thierry Bachez, wanted to start their own brand of spirits after having both worked in aviation.

The primary goal was to combine local products with a festive spirit. They naturally turned to the production of spirits as it was a shared passion.

Their first spirit was the production of a gin based on the strawberries of Wépion, which are renowned throughout Wallonia. In 2020, they decided to set up the Bossimé farm in the cowshed, which they completely renovated and transformed into a distillery.

They decided to follow the Alsatian production process, i.e. they specialise in distilling the fruit. This way, they are sure to get quality products as they use local producers.

One of the values of the distillery is to favour the short circuit, especially as the region has a lot of quality seasonal fruit. Thanks to the short circuit, the Namur distillery produces natural products, without artificial colourings or flavourings.
