Marula was founded by Thomas Wuyts, an Antwerp man with a passion for spirits. He decided to focus on gin, "The Marula Gin". It takes its name from the marula tree, a South African tree known for its edible fruit which is used in the production of alcoholic beverages. This fruit is often associated with elephants as they are great lovers of Marula. Moreover, this fruit has the particularity to make them drunk, several videos exist on the internet.
The gin is produced in small batches using a selection of carefully chosen botanicals, including juniper berries, coriander and orange peel. The key element of this gin is the use of wild marula berries, which are hand-picked.
The result is a distinctive tasting gin, which combines notes of juniper and coriander with the sweet, fruity flavours of marula. The gin has a smooth, silky texture and can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks. It is also ideal for use in cocktails.
