Heynsquared is a Belgian family business founded by two brothers, Jan and Geert Heynman, who both share a common value, respect for the environment and nature.
Through his professional career, Geert has developed knowledge of plants and edible weeds. His brother has business skills. So they were complementary in setting up a distillery, Jan manages all the business aspects while his brother Geert takes care of the recipes and ingredients. So it is a 100% family business!
What makes the company special is that it incorporates plants that grow in urban areas into its spirit recipes, including weeds and unwanted plants. This is important to the two brothers given the importance they place on ecology and nature.
As their ingredients are unusual, they have developed atypical processes. The result is the creation of gin based on edible weeds from the city of Ghent.

C'est important pour les deux frères étant donné l’importance qu’ils donnent à l’écologie et à la nature.
Leurs ingrédients étant peu commun, ils ont développé des procédés atypiques. Le résultat est la création de gin à base de mauvaises herbes comestibles de la ville de Gand.
