Stokerij Pirlot

The Pirlot Distillery and Brewery is a Belgian family business specialised in the production of craft beer but also makes whisky. The brewery was founded in 1998 by Guy Pirlot, who had been brewing beer as a hobby for about ten years. Over the years and with the growing success of the craft beers Guy brewed, the facilities were no longer suitable as they were too small and he had to move several times to another brewing location, finally settling in Zandhoven, in the province of Antwerp, in 2010.

Although the company is more than 20 years old and most of the products have changed, as well as the brewing and distillation methods, Distillerie Pirlot still has the same vision and motivation to develop its activities. It wants to produce craft beers, taking into account old beer styles and trying to combine them with new trends and techniques (oak ageing). Guy Pirlot tries to combine tradition and modernity. 
Always guided by his passion for fermentation to produce alcohol, Guy has set himself the challenge of making his own single malt whisky. Their ambition is to become one of the best known whisky producers in Belgium with the aim of joining forces with other distilleries that share a common vision in order to compete with whisky from Scotland, Ireland, etc.

Finally, the Pirlot brewery and distillery organise visits of their production lines for the curious who want to discover all the manufacturing processes of their products.
