Cala-Kumquat Spirits

The Cala Kumquat Spirits distillery specialises in the production of high quality spirits based on kumquats. The adventure began in 2017, in the distillery in Biercée, whose first product was only released in 2019, after numerous tests.

Cala Kumquat Spirits is above all the meeting between Thierry Verhoeven and a woman who produces Kumquats in Andalusia, a citrus fruit whose name means "Golden Orange" in Cantonese. Their goal was to offer 100% artisanal spirits while respecting the raw materials and, to say the least, it's a successful bet.
Their flagship product is Cala Kumquat Gin, a kumquat-based spirit distilled in copper stills. This spirit has a sweet and fruity flavour, with notes of citrus.

Cala Kumquat Spirits strives to maintain high quality standards throughout the production process, using fresh, high quality ingredients and ensuring that each batch is carefully distilled and aged to produce the highest quality craft spirits. This is achieved through the use of copper pot stills, which has an upward influence on the final quality of their product.
